I have been trading the markets for over ten years, and trading forex for five. When I first started trading my first live account things did not work out very well for me. Like most new traders, I really had no clue how to achieve the objective to make some money, and I quickly felt the pain of ignorantly entering the market on my own.
After several years of trying different programs and gurus and failing miserably, I decided that if I was to give this trading thing a real try, I was going to put the time and energy into developing my own forex system on my own terms and take full responsibility for the outcome.

My first goal was too build a leading trade indicator that would be the anchor of my system. The indicator is a momentum based indicator that uses volume and time to determine potential price direction. We have since tuned this indicator up and it is the driving force for every trade of the TropicalStorm v2.0 Expert Advisor. We like to call our custom indicator the “Forex Hammer” and that aqua line on chart above is the Fx Hammer.
Now that I developed my first piece of a winning FX system, I needed to incorporate several other ideas I had, and then ultimately test them in live market conditions to see how my idea stood up to live market. Back-Testing is fine to test and refine your system, but many use the misleading back-tested data to sell a product and we are firmly against that approach. We do not see any value in a forex trading system that uses backtested data to interpret the system’s performance. The only relevant data that should be used IMHO to determine an expert advisor’s performance is live trade results only or commonly called forward testing !
When I had all the pieces in place, it was time for me to put the forex system to work in a live market and at the time I was only trading two pairs, today the EA trades eight. I traded the heck out of this EA night and day with 10 different brokers on demo accounts. Things were going great until about 2 months into the testing until my results started to drift south. At first, I was alarmed because I thought this EA was ready for live trading in live account. I decided to add two inputs that can be adjusted every few months in the EA to keep in step with the market, because the FX Market changes and making small adjustments are essential. This is main reason why our dynamic approach to trading the TropicalStorm V2.0 Expert Advisor is far superior than all the others. When the Fx market changes, but your system is not updated to stay in tune with the changing market, what will you do then ? We update our preferred settings on our social site periodically.

I profitably traded the market manually for 3+ years with this system that would eventually be called the TropicalStorm v2.0 Expert Advisor. It was time to code this trading system for Metatrader and I found the right guy for the job. Our MT4 programmer had his work cut for him, and it took him six months to finish EA with several revisions to make it right. If you do not have a plan to trade the forex market, you will not last long.
